How North Hants GC Used Quick9 to Enhance Member Engagement & Playing Opportunities

The Challenge

North Hants Golf Club, an England Top 100 course and host club for Regional Open Qualifying, is a prestigious club with an active member community and a high demand for membership. The club runs numerous competitions, including regular weekly roll-ups and Stableford events, which work well for many members.

Outside of these structured events, there are always members and new joiners looking for a game. While there are various WhatsApp groups, they don’t always offer the best way for members to find playing partners, especially for those who are still expanding their connections at the club. The club wanted a simple and inclusive solution to help members organise casual games more easily.

The Solution

To make it easier for members to find playing partners, North Hants adopted Quick9, providing a dedicated club group where members could easily organise games.

⛳️ Members were invited to register for the app and join the North Hants group via a private access code.

⛳️ Players looking for a game could post an open invite, specifying the time, format (9 or 18 holes), and available slots.

⛳️ Other members received notifications about new games and could join instantly, notifying the organiser.

⛳️ In-app game chat streamlined coordination—members could confirm details, adjust tee times, or notify others if running late without disrupting larger WhatsApp groups.

⛳️ New members were introduced to Quick9 upon joining the club, making it easier for them to integrate and meet playing partners.

⛳️ A club-wide league was introduced, where members’ top four scores from Quick9-organised games were averaged for ranking, adding a fun incentive to play.

Results & Impact

The adoption of Quick9 has had a significant impact on how North Hants members organise their golf, creating a more connected and engaged community.

✅ Over 100 members joined the dedicated North Hants Quick9 group.

✅ 100+ games were created in the first six months, with each member playing with an average of five different new partners.

✅ 180+ comments were posted across games, helping players coordinate effortlessly.

✅ Members avoided the chaos of large WhatsApp groups or the need to join multiple chats, as game coordination was handled openly within Quick9.

✅ New members integrated faster, meeting playing partners quickly and feeling more connected to the club.

✅ Many members who met via Quick9 are now regular playing partners and continue to use the app for scheduling games.

✅ Some members created their own Quick9 groups for dedicated events and societies.
